Growing up, my sister cared for me until she enlisted into the US Military. Around that time I was 10 years old and moved in with my father and his girlfriend. His girlfriend had 4 kids and I did what any of the older siblings would do. I cared for them every day. Fed, bathed, helped with homework, walked them to school and home from school. I would take them to practice every day. I understood what each kid liked and didn’t like and grew a bond with all 4, all different types of bonds but a bond none the less. After I graduated high school, I also enlisted in the military and left. Being in the military is very similar to babysitting, they may be adults but majority of the time they were never taught how to do the basics in life (cook, clean, separate whites from colors, etc) and I took on the mother role of my military peers and taught them new things DAILY.
