Skyla R.
I have been an off-the-books babysitter for about 9 years. I have a special passion for kids that goes beyond the books. I studied Nutritional Sciences and Food Sciences hoping to become a Pediatric Dietician. I enjoy watching children grow into the people their parents, love-ones, caregivers, and teachers model for them. I believe the best way to change the world is by changing the way you view children. Children are our future, but we must do what we can to save them and protect them. I have 4 nieces and 1 nephew who I have watched, protected, babysat, and potty trained along with numerous of other families children, whom I have no relation to, but you could not tell how tight we are. It is almost heart-breaking to hear a child no longer needs you, but it is a joy as well because that means you have done all you can to help them mature into the young adult that is capable of caring for themselves. I have taught kids as young as 6 years old how to make a meal for themselves, that does not involve heat, knives, or pointy objects, that are healthy and safe to eat. Having a background in Food Services has helped me navigate through allergens to still find healthy but good choices for children to eat to keep them energize and youthful for as long as we can.
