The most important qualities a nanny can have are enthusiasm, a love for children, common sense and trustworthiness. Families trust nannies with their cherished children and they deserve to have someone who truly cares about them, has fun with them and won't put them in harm's way. I AM THAT NANNY/BABYSITTER. I love children. I used to take care of my younger siblings and I would ask my mom if I could help her with all of the various tasks of childcare. I was happy to volunteer in a childcare facility at a young age because of my love for children. I've always known that I wanted to have an important job caring for children. I do not have a specific preference for one age group over another. I enjoy caring for children of all ages, and I feel I have enough expertise to care for children of all ages efficiently. However, I have the most experience with children between the ages of 0-8 considering I have 4 children in this age range inclusive of twins.
