De’Nayja A.
For the past 4.25 years, I have worked as a Lifeguard, Maintenance, and Swim Instructor. During my time then, I have discovered that I love caring and looking out for children/teenagers. I am CPR, First Aid, and AED certified as well as an academic mentor.
I am able to help adolescences ranging from treating a minor scratch, all the way to prevent them from drowning, as well as personal help with studying school subjects. I mentored my younger brother one-on-one in many courses such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, American History, World Cultures, Health, Science, English Language Arts 6, 7 and 8 courses. I taught him strong and effective progressional learning patterns along with memorization methods, provided guidance, role modeling and personal support.
I am also very patient, and love doing hands-on activities such as painting, puzzles, video games, board games, science experiments, etc.
Some things I was involved in during high school included National Honor Society, National Art Honor Society, Varsity and JV Football Manager, Communications Executive and Social Media Manager for Red Cross Club, Key Club, Student Government Association, Diversity and Cultural Awareness Club, Best Buddies, Environmental Club, One Love Club, Kindness Club, American Sign Language Club, YMCA Swim Team, Pet Sitting, and more. I love being involved and learning/trying new things!
Next fall, I am going to be a sophomore at Syracuse University studying Psychology with a minor in Biology. I am a part of the Delta Gamma sorority and the Club Gymnastics Team as well! I plan to join more organizations during my time there.
