While I have nannied for multiple families I was able to build a strong bond with one. From the moment I started watching over their 3 children (8 and under) I always made a point to go above and beyond just caretaking such as cleaning the home on every visit and always asking If there were other tasks I could help with.
While nannying I would do many things such as read to the children, prepare meals, drive them to activities, keep them on their everyday schedule, and comfort them when they missed their parents. By doing these things I was able to watch over their friends' children and gain other connections.
One thing that also helped me gain better skills In childcare was the limited technology use In the home. Because of this I was able to do more enriching activities with the kids such as crafts, outdoor walks and water days, science fairs, and encouraging independent play.
I have nannied for 3 years to the same family and am working on obtaining a degree in Child Development Psychology.
