Ava P.
I've worked in childcare since I was around 14. I started by working at a day summer camp I had gone to since I was 5. I went through a CIT (counselor in training) program, JC (junior counselor) program and finally became a counselor! I worked with groups of 15-25 both boys and girls ages 4 to 14. I worked there for 5 years while babysitting some my campers after hours. In highschool I was in the PALS program (Peer Assistance Leadership & Service) and had two PALS throughout my junior and senior year. In this program, I visited a elementary school student with either special needs or difficulties at home to serve as a "older sibling/friend" role and hang out with them and/or do schoolwork. The next year I worked as an inclusion counselor at the JCC in Austin. I worked with one child with special needs and helped include them in group activities or assist in any activity they could need extra help in. I currently work at a daycare in Lubbock, and have a pretty flexible schedule!
Currently a senior in college getting a Bachelors in Advertising and PR!
