My mother ran a daycare out of our home for about 12 years and as her oldest daughter I regularly assisted her. She taught me how to care for babies as young as 6 months to children as old as 10 years. When my single mother closed her day care to work two jobs I cared for my younger sister during the day and overnight from ages 4 to 10. I’ve also had the pleasure of babysitting and house sitting for friends and family so they can enjoy date nights and vacations. I’ve done everything from changing diapers, giving baths, tending to skinned knees, preparing meals, playing and inventing games, helping with homework, solving conflicts between siblings, teaching manners and kindness, disciplining within my boundaries, and being someone a family can count on. As an individual I’ve recently graduated from Cal Poly Humboldt with my Bachelor’s in Environmental Science and I have experience as a volunteer outdoor educator for young children and I enjoy teaching kiddos about the natural world around them through conversations and hands on demonstrations. I have a clean driving record and clean criminal background. I enjoy being a helpful person and I believe children can never have too many trustworthy, supportive and kind people in their lives!
