Amy B.
I grew up as an only child but have always been around other kids and now being a bit older I regularly take care of my little cousins, ages 1 year and 7-13. I recently graduated from a charter school and was rewarded a 4-year scholarship to UTEP. I was attending Valle Verde from freshman to beginning of senior year but transferred and now have a semester left until I get my associates. I don’t plan on pursuing care giving but I love kids, I love conversations with them, playtime, and just overall their energy. I love to learn from kids and providing patience so they can understand that what they have to say is important and they are being heard. What makes me a great care giver is my motivation, encouragement, and patience. I try to put myself into their shoes and view situations from a child’s perspective to help understand how I can communicate best and teach correctly, or just hang out! I’m no teacher or trainer but all wish is for a child to learn from me is to feel more confident in themselves and motivated. I have a few years of experience from babysitting my cousins and little brothers; wiping, cleaning, feeding, and having fun!
