I feel that every child is a unique individual. All children learn in different ways and styles. Parent and the day care provider should work together in order to develop the best rate of learning and joy for each child. Every child should progress at his/her own rate. My purpose is to create an environment in which children feel welcomed, safe and free to create, imagine and discover. I believe that children need consistent show of affection, care, love and respect. A place where they can find comforting stimuli for their senses, interactions with others and learn about the world that they live in. As a provider I need to provide activities that enhance the child's natural curiosity and interest level. It's important to encourage activities designed to develop language, social emotional and intellectual growth. I believe that play is an important part of development. In my program, children have uninterrupted periods of play in which to enjoy self-chosen activities. There are also periods of roll playing and other activities. We use the Creative Curriculum to plan for and support the early learning and development of children in our program. I strongly agree with good nutrition as a bedrock of lifelong health. Healthy eating can stabilize children's energy, sharpen their minds and even control their moods. We spend lots of time exploring the great outdoors.
