At Little Shepherd Kidz Place, we believe children learn best through play, exploration, relationships, and hands-on experiences. Our goal is to provide a safe, nurturing environment where every child feels known, loved, and encouraged to grow.

Our program balances structured learning with plenty of time for creativity, movement, outdoor play, and just being a kid. We focus on the whole child, supporting social-emotional development, independence, communication, problem-solving, and kindergarten readiness at each child’s individual pace.

Children have opportunities for meaningful intergenerational experiences with our residents, creating relationships that bring joy, connection, and learning to both generations. Little Shepherd Kidz Place is located within Mount Carmel Home in Kearney, Nebraska, in a quiet, welcoming residential area. Our setting offers children a safe and comfortable environment with access to secure outdoor play spaces and plenty of opportunities for fresh air and movement.

Being located within Mount Carmel Home also gives our program a truly unique atmosphere. Children are part of a larger, caring community and have opportunities to interact with residents through special activities, visits, celebrations, and everyday moments. We are conveniently located near local schools, parks, and other community resources, while still offering the warm, close-knit feel of a small childcare program.

We have 8 teachers on staff. Melissa is our Director. She has been with LSKP since we opened in 2016. Miss Ali is our preschool teacher and has been with LSKP for 11 years.
