Hi! We’re Heffalump School and we're a preschool providing childcare to families since 1974, in Palo Alto and neighboring cities.
Where kids learn through play!
Heffalump Preschool was established in 1974 with the love and support from our community. Our goal at Heffalump is to prepare children for the next stage of their lives through the development of motor abilities, thinking skills and healthy interactions with their peers. Our unique programs incorporate a variety of educational theories, while always keeping the child’s best interest in mind and allowing for hands-on, experiential learning.. We know that schedules vary, and we have options for part-time ( 8:30am -3pm) and full-time (8:30 am-5.30pm) packages. We can't wait to meet you! Please reach out to schedule your tour.
Teachers
Our teachers are all accomplished childcare providers with decades of experience, we are devoted to providing children with the tools they need to thrive and succeed with joy in life.
All teachers are fully qualified, trained, experienced and certified in Early Childhood Education, First Aid, and CPR. They are also Background/fingerprint cleared. We focus on developmentally appropriate activities for children to encourage their excitement for learning.

Heffalump is a wonderful school. My son loved his teachers Ms. Meenakshi and Ms. Barbara.The teachers gives lot of individual attention and care to each student. This school is a wonderful options for kids who are going to daycare/school for the first time. Highly recommend it.

Heffalump School is a preschool/day care Center, we encourages curiosity, creativity, and learning, in a secure and safe space for your little one. For your convenience and safety, we have a driveway for parking and a gated entrance. We also have a Huge play yard, Huge play structure, a nap area, an art area, and a reading area to promote a comfortable atmosphere where students can learn and play.
Located in the city of Palo Alto, our Center is in a quiet and safe neighborhood with a park, and an elementary and middle school close by. We are very close to Stanford University, Google, Intuit, Vmware, Facebook and other big companies.
