I have been a daycare provider for 34 years. My Philosophy in my daycare is allowing children to learn on their own, while being guided by an adult. -My approach is to be devoted to help each child grow to be independent, by building confidence, competence, self-esteem, and respect for others. I provide a safe, secure, and healthy learning environment. - This daycare respects children as self-directed individuals and fosters their growth toward independence and social responsibility, while creating a joyful, diverse, and family oriented environment. - The design of this daycare is for a multi-age mix from infants through the first day of kindergarten, which allows both individual and social development. - This daycare setting allows open style play and work areas. I use Carol's Affordable Curriculum. This curriculum is designed around the widely-respected theories of Jen Piaget, an early childhood theorist. She believed that young children learn best through hands on, active experience. My role is to provide an appropriate environment, routine and materials. This curriculum simplifies the process for me, by providing me with a developmentally appropriate plan and the materials to successfully implement it for the month. This daycare will monitor the development of all children in my care, through ongoing observation. I can assure you that I'm offering the children in my care, everything they need for success in Kindergarten and beyond. This daycare wants the best outcome for all children and to build a great relationship with all my daycare families. We use the Mother Goose and Redleaf FCC Curriculum to plan for and support the early learning and development of children in our program.
