A New Hope Preschool and ECE Program
The early years of a child's life are busy. I believe learning is happening all the time and is interwoven through all developmental stages including physical, social/emotional, cognitive and communication. The goal of my program is to make this experience safe, positive and fun, growing the whole child as I guide them into the next stage of their development with the confidence in themselves they need to achieve these goals. Children need the assurance of being loved and cared for while they are in this environment. Security and trust are very important as well as the unique relationship I have with each child. In planning my program I strive for a developmentally appropriate atmosphere where children have the opportunity to learn new skills through activities that are meaningful to them, and at the same time building their self esteem as they develop and learn. Children should be given choices, responsibilities, and opportunities to initiate their own learning. I believe this is where my observations and assessments are excellent tools to use. I believe the environment plays a major role in the success of an early childhood program. Learning is best done when children are given the opportunity to explore. My families are very important to me Sharing with them my observations and assessments and keeping open lines of communication, lets them know just their child is doing. Introduction teaching approach. This is a long-term plan of action to achieve a particular goal, I/e., kindergarten readiness. I also use Funshine Express Curriculum to plan for and support the early learning and development of children in our program. I use a hands-on learning approach with the children in my care. We experience through touch, sight, smell, taste and hearing. I offer 4 opportunities per year for a parent/child fun activity, such as our annual fall bonfire which includes past and present families. I also offer a once a month, free of charge parents night out. In the summer months, we participate in several fieldtrips, including trips to the zoo, parks, library, local beaches, and summer kids series movies at the local theater. We love to go on nature walks and enjoy lunch away from home on a picnic blanket.
