Hello! I’m a mama to three kiddos, outdoor adventure, kid at heart, and love to stay busy with my hands! I'm passionate about childcare, and I have more than 5 years of experience guiding children in a childcare setting. I have +10 years experience teaching swimming among other activities like gymnastics. I have completed an outdoor nature play conference training and working on becoming licensed under nature play as well. You may find me in the woods making huts with the kids, swimming in the lake finding fish among other critters or simply playing in the mud in the backyard with the children at pick up. Maria has been AMAZING. We've only been there for a week, and I've seen so much improvement in my daughter's attitude and independence. It's going great!
I have a small space inside where most of the magic happens. I do large group in the morning after breakfast, then we head outside and explore what nature has to offer in the backyard. I have a dirt hole kids enjoy digging their hearts out, buckets of water are brought into play, I have a mud kitchen, swing set and small one person enclosed trampoline as well. I have Tonka trucks and much more. We go on walks to the playgrounds near by or to the library as well. Some days we make a whole afternoon of a walk and pack our lunch with. Once back, or after eating home made lunch, everyone takes a 30min quiet time or nap. After 30mins if they are still awake, they are welcome to get up and play in the other room with me and do a quiet activity or we play outside. This is also the time I do school readiness with the older kids. During nap time I play classical music. We usually grow a veggie garden out in the backyard. The kids help plant, care for and pick the veggies along with preparing them for meals or eating them right there in the garden. I also have raspberries, grapes, and blueberries.
I also to field trips with the kids to other parks, nature centers, libraries, museums, strawberry fields, historical farms etc. Another provider and I share a small bus. The kids love it and so do I. It’s a highlight and core memory for many of the children.
