Research shows that children learn best while playing. I believe every child is born with a capacity to learn that is enhanced by the ability to create. There will be many years of formal education ahead of them, and while I feel it’s my job to prepare them for that step, part of that preparation is fostering, creative thinking, imagination, problem-solving, and resiliency. I do this by guiding and teaching developmental age appropriate milestones, academic skills, and by fostering appropriate social behavior, which may be the single most important factor in future school success. With my 20 years of primary teaching background, I am able to personalize each child’s learning based upon their interest and Contact me to learn more about my program and availability. Teaching children has been the enduring love of my life. From babysitting neighbor kids beginning at age 9, opening my home to become a preschool when my third child was born, receiving my multiple subject, teaching credential at San Diego State in 1991, and volunteering throughout my children’s lives; I am child-centered, and it is my gift . During my teaching career, I mostly taught kindergarten and first grade. From 2012-2022, I worked at a Spanish Immersion school in the north suburbs where I taught social emotional skills to kindergartners. This was a job that I am very proud of and loved very much until it was discontinued. I was able to create a curriculum that focused on English language skills, music, art, physical education, and focus on social skills. My students appropriately used and understood concepts of good sportsmanship, empathy, perseverance, growth, mindset, and responsibility. I use the same concepts in my childcare. I love to read books to children and learn through them. We also use conscious discipline in my childcare.

My husband and I live in Southeast Eagan. We have been in our home for 20 years. It is near the border of Inver Grove Heights and Rosemount. We raised our amazing three adult boys here. There is a wonderful elementary school three houses away from our home. Our neighborhood is very safe, established and walkable. The childcare is exclusively located in the basement of our home which walks out to a very large fenced in backyard. There is an edible garden, swing sets, sandbox and mud kitchen. The children also play on the driveway when we use ride on toys and bikes. We play outside morning and afternoons. (Weather permitting)
