Mighty Little Leaders Playgroup is a family child care program serving families in the Brandywine, Waldorf and Clinton areas since 2019. This program provides a safe, warm and welcoming environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, including children with disabilities. At Mighty Little Leaders Playgroup, the goal is to help children learn important social, emotional, and behavioral skills while reaching their developmental milestones. It emphasizes building good character in your little ones by promoting good manners and behaviors, respecting rules, respecting others, problem resolution, sharing and showing empathy. This program prepares and serves healthy, delicious meals and snacks to each child at no extra cost to families. The curriculum includes a combination of arts and crafts, music and dance, active indoor and outdoor play, pretend dress-up, exercise or physical education, science experiments and other educational activities. Your little ones will also enjoy learning new things including the alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, cutting, pasting, tracing, drawing, writing, solving simple math problems, recognizing sights words as well as other structured learning activities that support school readiness. This program prioritizes each child through one-on-one sessions to ensure that each child's needs are met.
Melanna Luckie-Mills is the owner and operator of Mighty Little Leaders Playgroup. She is a caregiver with a genuine love and passion for working with and caring for young children. When Melanna is not busy being a child care provider, she is embracing her roles as a loving wife and a mother of four children. She enjoys spending time with her family, trying new foods, traveling and having fun filled, jovial conversations. She believes that laughter is food for the soul and that life is too short not to enjoy the precious moments God blesses us with. Melanna is a kind-hearted, sincere, humble, and honest person who tries to be a blessing to everyone she meets. She is fully trained in CPR & First Aid, Health and Safety, Medication Administration and ADA. Melanna does an exceptional job as a child care provider and comes highly recommended by her present and former families.
At Mighty Little Leaders Playgroup, our home daycare is designed for fun, discovery, and learning! Our daycare has a driveway for parking. Within the space, we have a beautiful backyard for outdoor play, nature exploring and summer days waterplay activities.
We are located in a quiet Brandywine neighborhood just a few blocks away from Brandywine Elementary school.
