My name is Fernando Reyes, I am the parent of Lyla Isabel Reyes, a two-year-old that was under Ms. Asare’s tutelage and care for over 1 year as she worked in the Child Development Center/Day Care (CDC) at Walter Reed National Medical Center in Bethesda Maryland.
My daughter Ly...Read morela, during the 13 months she spent in the pre-toddler class (from Aug 2021 to Sep 2022) thrived and excelled beyond my expectations and I can 100% attribute Lyla’s development and well-being to Ms. Asare’s professionalism, work ethic, devotion to kids and their development, amazing managerial skills, spotless intuition and ability to anticipate parents’ needs before they even voice it.
Prior to coming to CDC, my daughter was in a civilian daycare which we loved, but because of financial stability and military move, we elected to put Lyla in CDC. The first three months she was at the CDC (not in Ms. Asare’s class) it was very tough and we considered pulling her back out and placing her back in the civilian daycare. Ms. Asare heard about this and she came to talk to us. She told us that our daughter was scheduled to come to her class the next month and asked me to give her a chance; we did. Lyla became a different baby when she showed up to her class and she has developed beyond our expectations. I truly believe it was because of Ms. Asare’s understanding of the problem, her assessment of the situation, and the ability to implement a plan that works.
I am clearly a fan of Ms. Asare, but even beyond my personal feelings, working in the White House has allowed me to see people’s potential and Ms. Asare has a gift of teaching, a gift leading and she would be an asset and a perfect fit to help you lead your school. I ask you to give her a chance, just like we did, you can thank me later.
At Kyy Daycare, our home daycare is designed for play, creativity, and learning! Within the space, we have a backyard and a nap room to create a comfortable environment for all of our activities.
