TODDLERS

When should my toddler take his nap?

What is the best time for two-year-olds to take their nap? My son wakes up at about 7 and he’s in bed at night at 8 o’clock.

It depends on the child, but my son naps for about two hours. Either 12-2 or 12:30-2:30. 0 Likes

Kayla, do you feed him lunch before or after the nap then? 0 Likes

The start of our day begins at 6am and bedtime was also 8pm. I had to have a solid schedule while adjusting to work, school and mommy life. Nap time was set at 12pm daily at the child care and I kept that schedule on weekends if we were not out and about. The funny thing is that sometimes without even thinking of nap time, children will be adjusted to that schedule and fall asleep like clockwork (sometimes). 0 Likes

Nap time can depend on the demands of each day. When we run errands and stay out for the day, nap time varies. Although it was never set in stone, nap time is usually between 11:30am - 12:30pm and lasts for approximately 2 hours. If the day involved heat, playing and a hearty lunch, nap may even last 2.5 hours. 0 Likes

It depends on your schedule, whatever time you choose, just make sure it's consistent everyday. My toddler takes his nap every day after lunch, around 12:30pm. 0 Likes
