Licensed as a Large Family Childcare, we truly are a home-based Montessori preschool in essence. We are dedicated to providing a loving, nurturing, and joyful learning environment for the whole child. With the Montessori philosophy in mind, we follow the child's natural development and respect them as individual human beings. Within our beautiful garden, every child feels a strong sense of belonging and significance. I love children and am proud of myself for having a childlike spirit. My own little boy has brought me tons of joy, hope and fulfillment. This love has led me to work in several Montessori schools and become a certified Montessori teacher after having worked extensively in the field of education in China, UK and US. As a matter of fact, my love for my son and for children in general has defined the purpose of my life - to become a child advocate, to embrace and implement the essence of Montessori philosophy in modern times, and to nurture future generations into independent and intelligent global citizens with intercultural competence, creativity and compassion.

He is able to grasp and understand a variety of mathematical concepts, and shares anecdotes of many other things he has learned throughout his day at pick-up (and throughout the week!). We speak only English in our home, but the exposure to Chinese and Spanish has brought the recitation of stories and lessons taught into our home. My son sings songs in Chinese (and can explain to me what they mean and what he is saying), and does the same in Spanish. I am in awe that he is becoming a tri-lingual speaker, and hope to carry on the exposure once he enters grade school.

Garden of Joy Montessori International School is a home-based Montessori preschool that sparks curiosity, creativity, and learning, in a secure and safe space for your little one. We have three classrooms and one backyard serving as our children's playground. Our students have the freedom to move within these spaces across curricular areas of Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, Arts & Crafts. As you can understand, children at this young age, are all in the sensitive periods for movement, language, social interactions, order and small details.

Located in the east side of San Jose, our preschool is in a quiet and safe family-oriented neighborhood with a park, an elementary school, and a middle school. For your convenience and safety, we have a driveway for parking as well as plenty of street parking.
