Linda and Mark's Family Child Care and Preschool Daycare

Mark and Linda provide a loving family environment where the children feel safe and confident to learn while having fun. We have an individualized program for the children in our care to help each child grow and learn at their own pace and ensure that each child is prepared for kindergarten. We use Teaching Strategies Creative Curriculum to plan our day to include all of the important domains of learning to prepare the children for school and life. We use the Teaching Strategies GOLD Assessment tool to assess the children twice per year. Creative Curriculum is a play-based curriculum. This means that we are teaching the kids throughout the day by planning learning activities that we incorporate into their play. In addition to this, we have structured time with activities that are teacher led (circle time, organized games and activities, science experiments, etc.). We use the results from the children's assessments to share information with the parents and for lesson planning to guarantee that we meet the individual needs of each child. The children in our childcare get the benefit of splitting the week between a husband and wife team of childcare providers/teachers. Weather permitting, we take the kids on weekly visits to a local assisted living home and story time and special events at the library. We both love what we do and truly enjoy our jobs of loving, raising, and teaching children to be respectful, kind, self-confident learners.It is our mission to provide the best school readiness program possible, in a loving, nurturing, home environment.
