Let me tell you a bit more about my Preschool program! 🙂 Preschool meets 5 days a week, 8:30-5:00. Tuition is payable at the beginning of the month for the duration of the month. I do accept UPK, once your child is 4, which lowers the price! I have a large license so I can have as many as 8 kids in my care at a time.
Students must be potty trained or on their way to potty training success (we can support potty learning in the classroom if needs be, but we are not set up to change diapers or pull ups) and fully vaccinated to AAP recommendations. I offer a full Preschool program year-round, I offer two hearty snacks daily, which usually consist of two choices plus 2% milk and water. (Some good examples are pita triangles, cucumbers and hummus, or berries, graham crackers and sun butter or cream cheese.) All students bring their own lunch and water bottle from home and are reminded to stay hydrated throughout the day. We take a few good hydration breaks together! Our Preschool learning environment is built on nature and play based foundation. Students and teacher work together to create the curriculum (a process called Emergent Curriculum.) As an example, we recently learned about animals, which our Cubs had been super curious about! We did an in-depth exploration about all the things we wouldn’t easily know about these animals. In accordance with honoring our “using tech very sparingly” environment, we only use tech for special learning opportunities to expand on a subject we are learning about. One area of interested focused on bears. We watched a short video made by Colorado parks and wildlife about what to do if you encounter a bear in the wilderness or when you are out camping or hiking. It was very fascinating and inspired a lot of great conversation! I offer two enrichment classes, which is included in your tuition price, Nature Class and Animal Class. Once per month we have a program called Rugged Research, led by Park Ranger Aliy Louie. Ranger Aliy comes to our school and leads a fun nature-based program once per month. Recent classes have been focused on migration, animal habitats, the water cycle, and a field trip to learn about rivers and water safety, and to see the baby eagles at River Bluffs. 😊 Animal class is run by Rainy Bug Farm, once per month they come and teach us about one farm animal and bring that animal to us to visit! If you are interested, please let me know your child’s name, age and birthday, as well as a great contact email and phone number, and I’ll reach out to schedule a tour.
Thank you,
Ms. Nicki Meldrum
