Little Quails Montessori used to be Lanai Court Montessori in West Sacramento. After we moved to the new location on Quail Road we renamed it as Little Quails Montessori.
At Little Quails Montessori, we bring together the timeless Montessori method and the nurturing principles of Japanese childcare philosophy. Our environment encourages independence, kindness, respect, curiosity, and a love of learning. Through thoughtful guidance, hands-on experiences, and a peaceful, child-centered approach, we help each child grow with confidence while developing strong foundations for life. I am a Montessori-certified early childhood educator with 20 years of experience supporting children and families. My background includes working as a Montessori directress in Santa Cruz and Los Gatos, operating a home-based Montessori daycare for eight years after moving to Sacramento in 2016, and owning a larger childcare center. These experiences deepened my understanding of early learning and confirmed how much I value small, personal care where each child receives individual attention. I hold an associate degree in early childhood education, Montessori and Child phycology diplomas, CPR, and first aid. At Little Quails Montessori, I combine Montessori principles with warm, nurturing values inspired by Japanese childcare, creating a peaceful environment where children feel respected, encouraged, and confident as they learn and grow.

However, when I found Thamalka and her wonderful program I was instantly put at ease. Thamalka has always gone above and beyond to meet our son's dietary needs and restrictions. Over the last year, she has consistently provided exceptional care and our son has thrived in her structured environment, learning curriculum. He enjoys circle time, the constant adaption of learning activities to meet his learning style and needs, and ever growing learning environment. Thamalka provides thoughtful updates and check ins during the day to let me know what he is up to. Often times at pick up he is excited to show me what new art and craft he did while at daycare. We will forever consider her as family and be thankful for her care.
