Hello!! I'm Lola, I am a 23 year ELA teacher in Brooklyn looking for summer work while school is out. I am originally from England but have lived in the US for many years now, and some of my favourite hobbies include playing tennis, writing, cooking, reading, and spending time in the park with my dog and friends!

As a 5th grade teacher, I spend the bulk of my day looking after and teaching about seventy 10-11 year olds. As the saying goes, teachers are part time teachers, nurses, parents, friends, councillors, and facilitators!

As an english teacher my skill focus on reading, writing, and critical thinking skills, but my role involves a lot of childcare duties as well. These include basic first aid for mild playground injuries, conflict resolution, socio-emotional learning, as well as managing larger medical cases such as diabetes, asthma, allergies and food intolerance.

My favourite part of the school day though has to be recess where i get to simply have fun with the kids. The joy on their face is unparalleled, and the absurd things that like to share with adults cracks me up to no end!

In addition to my experience as a teacher, I also have informally babysat my, at the time 2 year old, nephew. I was responsible for helping to cook kid-friendly meals, prepare outdoor games and activities, help out with speech development, assist with morning and bedtime routines, and get him ready for outings.
