I’ve been in retail for nearly 2 years, as it was the best option at the time. My yearning to be a positive role model, however, has been an ongoing theme for upwards of 5 years. I spent the bulk of my teen years being the sole caretaker for my two youngest siblings (now 11 and 9 years old). Using my teaching abilities to aid in homework, and shape their hobbies into tactical skills, focusing on fine motor skills and speech in order to give them the head start I had as a child. Now that I am pursing a career as an elementary educator, I would like child care to be my focus. The family dynamic is very important to me, so being a positive, helping hand is of the utmost importance to me.
