I've been caring for children as young as newborn and as old as teens for about 21 years starting with my first job as a part time nanny for my neighbor at a young age of 14.
I have also provided short term placement for children without homes while they waited to be placed.
I have 5 children myself and they are amazing. I have 2 honor roll students, 2 IEP students, and my oldest was a C/B average with perfect attendance and a 3. average graduate class of "21". All but my two youngest babies have began their own journeys so my 9 yr old and my 7yr old are still keeping me young! They are very helpful and love to be around children and help teach the little ones.
I have attended family and parenting classes to educate myself on children behavior and signs, understanding mental growth, problem solving skills for training and teaching youth, disciplinary strategies, healthy meals and ways to make meal time fun, planning and scheduling and much more. Im proud to share that i volunteered my time to the church day care for 3.5 yrs. where I assisted with Bible Study and activities such as art and crafts games, and story time.
I began CPR training in High School in 2000 and have 3 years of experience as a nurse assistand and assistant living from 2003-2006 where I prepared meals, sometimes physically fed patients who could not feed themselves, house chores, assisted in bathing and hygiene routines, performed catheter changing and sanitation, ensured enema and daily medication routines and/or as needed, assisted with billing and financial assistance, transportation and documentation.
I enjoy helping others and bringing joy to their lives. I believe it takes a village and i take pride in being part of one.
