Hi there! My name is Libby, I’m 20, and I’m in my junior year of studying Special Education at Florida State University. I am active member in a number of clubs, including Hiking Club and Yoga Club. My first official experience working with children was in 2016 when I volunteered as a summer camp counselor with the Summer Arts Camp at the Alliance for the Arts in my hometown. I volunteered there again in 2019, and then moved on to a paid position at DaySpring Episcopal Summer Camp in 2021. My summer of 2022 was spent as a camp counselor at Easterseals Camp Challenge, an overnight camp for people of all ages and abilities. I assisted with the personal care needs of campers, such as aiding with meals, bathing, dressing, and toileting; addressing sensory needs; helping manage difficult behaviors; leading and assisting campers in participating in activities; and working alongside other counselors in advocating for campers' needs. In 2023, I worked with high schoolers with Down Syndrome at Achieving Dreams summer camp by Down Syndrome of Louisville. After my summers at Camp Challenge, and Achieving Dreams, I have never been more certain that working with children with disabilities is my passion.

However, I love working with infants, children, and teens of all abilities! I enjoy coming up with enriching and entertaining activities for the age group I’m working with, and my high school experience in theatre helps me excel in imaginative play! Having worked in camp settings, I have strong skills in managing behaviors and facilitating conflict resolution between children, including siblings. I grew up in a beach town where I spent every hour I could in my family’s pool, and I’m still a skilled swimmer. I love pets, and I have no issue keeping up with household chores. I’m currently certified in Infant, Child, and Adult CPR/First Aid/AED, and hold a Direct Support Professional certification in the state of Kentucky.

My hobbies include yoga, volunteering, dance, supporting local artists and spending as much time as I can outdoors. I look forward to working with you and your family!
