At Aprenden Play Preschool, we have designed a Reggio-inspired micro-school in Highland where children find a balanced, nurturing home-away-from-home. Our physical environment is specifically built to support child-led investigation, deep relationships, and creative expression.
The Creative Atelier & Studio Spaces:
Indoor space filled with open-ended materials inspired by nature. Here, children use interactive light tables, paint, and sensory elements to bring their discoveries to life. Their learning is preserved through vibrant walls of documentation, including journals, models, and family exhibitions.
The Living Outdoor Nature Classroom:
A backyard space where children move straight into active exploration. It features mud kitchens, a thriving learning garden, and live stock that the children actively care for as they learn community responsibility.
The Community & Dining Area:
A cozy space where our full-day community naturally gathers. Children participate in preparing meals together and sharing a group lunch before heading into a restful, quiet period.
Adventure Night Exploration Setup:
For evening and overnight care, our environment transforms into a after-dark classroom. We go outdoors with flashlights and lanterns to track shadows and observe seasonal changes, before transitioning into a warm indoor kitchen to bake delicious snacks to share with family in their home.
