Maria V.
Hi families! My name is Ruby, and I’ve been babysitting for over 10 years. I first started caring for kids in 8th grade, and as the older sibling in my family, I naturally stepped into the role of helping with little ones. Over time, I even became known as the “baby whisperer” because of my calm, patient way with kids—especially infants.
I’ve cared for children of all ages, from newborns to school-aged kids. One of my most meaningful experiences was during college at American University in Washington, D.C., when I worked for a family with a 2-month-old and a 1-year-old for two years. Being part of their daily routines, helping with feedings, and watching them grow into toddlers gave me invaluable hands-on experience.
I graduated this past June from American University with a degree in Communications, Legal Studies, Economics, and Government, plus a minor in Business Management. I’m originally from Nashville, Tennessee, and now live in Los Angeles, where I work full-time at the Anti-Recidivism Coalition (ARC), a nonprofit that supports formerly incarcerated people and works to end mass incarceration.
Even with my 9-5, I truly enjoy spending time with kids. Families describe me as caring, reliable, and friendly, and I’d love to support yours!
