John M.
I have two, almost three, years of experience babysitting. My babysitting job was for two of the sweetest little girls, ages 5 and 6. As their temporary guardian, I was required to prepare them hearty, healthy meals, while being sure they got their daily dose of sugar. During the work/school week, I would be sure to include educational and/or stimulating activities such as painting, reading, DIY projects, and even timed multiplication races! Also, I am sure to always encourage independence when the children are doing their schoolwork by helping them think out loud through their problem, rather than giving them the answer straightaway.
Even when it is not expected of me or required, I love to keep a clean work space and environment. I organize all things, with permission, in order to provide a quicker, easier lifestyle! Plus, including the kids in tasks like cleaning, organizing, and cooking, you allow them to develop their own independence from early age!
As their babysitter, I was also expected to transport them in my vehicle to their dance classes, school meetings, friends houses, and even random ice cream runs! When driving with someone else’s child, I always drive the speed limit, never tailgate, always use my turn signals, and follow all rules of the road to the best of my ability.
I believe some of my greatest skills are maternal instinct, which is why I believe I would be perfect for the job. My favorite thing to do is care for others. I love babysitting. Being able to provide a child with a best friend, role model, and guardian all at the same time is truly rewarding. I believe I excelled at my previous babysitting job, and I do not doubt that I will excel at the next.
